MOULD HEATING

When moulding composite materials it is often necessary to warm and maintain the temperature of either the mould or the component in order to

  • reduce the curing time
  • improve the quality of the cure.

Euroquip heaters are used to achieve this condition. The flexible jackets provide a simple way of applying heat to the surface of the component during manufacturing. This is often also the method used for repairing damaged areas at a later date.

The materials we use for the jackets are low-adhesion Teflon-coated polyester, which reduces the possibility of the jacket sticking to the mould.

Technical Details
All Euroquip heaters are manufactured around the design of an element carrier retaining a spiral wound silicon-insulated resistance wire. The carrier is then thermally insulated, and an outer cover is sewn on. The method of fixing depends upon the application; these are typically webbing straps with quick-release buckles, draw cords, Velcro and eyelets.
